Looking for liposuction in Portland? Need liposuction prices? You’ve come to the right spot. Aesthetic Medicine has performed Liposuction in Portland on over 10,000 patients since 1995. Today, Dr. Darm and his team perform his perfected method which is a safer and more effective form of liposuction called LipoLift™ which is a laser-assisted liposuction procedure (laser lipolysis) that removes fat from the body. This minimally invasive surgical procedure is a popular body sculpting solution that “melts” fat with less pain, less downtime, and consistently favorable results. The laser is inserted through a very tiny incision in the skin and passed back and forth slowly dissolving fat and fat cells. The liquified fat is then gently removed through a micro-cannula. In one session, one to four liters of fat can be removed! Treatment areas include the abdomen, flanks (love handles), bra bulge, inner and outer thighs, arms, axillary (armpits), beneath the bottom (banana roll) and chin/neck.
Unlike some national providers, you’ll always meet with a medical provider during your consultation, at your scheduled history and physical, and prior to your procedure. We’ll perform a full medical history and physical (H&P), Electrocardiogram (ECG) and blood workup to ensure that you’re healthy enough for the procedure. Your health and safety is our top priority, and by completing a H&P and medical assessment we are able to make sure this procedure is right for you. To ensure patient satisfaction, following your procedure you will have follow-up appointments to ensure you are healing well and to review your results.
Your scheduled consultation will be performed by a Wellness Consultant and a Medical Provider via Zoom or FaceTime (specifically due to COVID-19). If you are unable to use Zoom or FaceTime, you will be asked to send pictures from your phone for review in order to allow the provider to visualize and assess the areas you want to treat. The physician will also assess your medical history in order to ensure you are a proper candidate. We will review before and after photos of our patients who have had the same procedure to allow you a visual conception of what the procedure and Physicians techniques have achieved in past cases. Lastly, in the consultation we will review the quote, go over financing options available to you and discuss expectations.
Once this is completed if you are a candidate and you are interested in moving forward all of your payment will be processed and you will be scheduled for your history and physical to be done prior to your scheduled procedure. Our practice has taken additional measures during the COVID-19 pandemic and all our patients will be screened for antibodies IGG and IGM. These measure if you’ve previously been exposed to/contracted COVID or if you have current active antibodies. This is the first part of your history and physical, we will come out to your car a quick and easy finger poke and we wait 15 minutes to get the results. Once confirmed negative we bring you into our clinic for the remaining part of the history and physical. All patients will also be screened for any COVID symptoms the day prior to any appointment. We will also take your before photos that will be put into your medical chart. You will also meet with the physician in person to physically assess you further. Our medical assistant or nurse doing your history and physical will go over all aspects of the procedure including after care. A few days prior to your procedure you will receive a call going over your before care instructions and answering any last minute questions you may have.
And now you’re it’s time for your transformation. Can’t wait to see your results!
Once this is completed if you are a candidate and you are interested in moving forward all of your financial paperwork will be processed. Then you will come to the office and your blood work and EKG will be completed for the physician to review before your history and physical. Your before photos will be taken as well for your clinical chart records and your appointment will be scheduled. Then prior to the procedure a physician or nurse practitioner will perform a full history and physical. If at that time it is determined that you are not a candidate you will receive a full refund, and will not be charged for the blood work, EKG, or history and physical.
It is important that each patient does their due diligence and research prior to undergoing any type of procedure. We will educate you on the many different options you have, review your expectations for results and guide you through your aesthetic journey.
Liposuction, also known as Lipoplasty, is a technique most commonly most commonly used in minimally invasive surgical procedures for removing excess fat, body sculpting, and contouring. Liposuction is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures performed and continues to grow.
At Aesthetic Medicine, we utilize what is known as Laser Assisted Liposuction or LAL. This procedure is a laser device that gently melts the fat, the laser tightens the skin and a mechanical/clinical vacuum device is used to suction out the fat. This technique is favorable due to how gentle it is, thus causing less downtime and faster recovery. Local and oral anesthesia is used for this procedure. The local infiltration with lidocaine anesthesia is used to numb the area being treated while the patient is awake. An oral anesthetic, such as Xanax, is prescribed and taken prior to the procedure. This oral sedative is optional.
The specific device that we use for Laser Lipolysis is the SlimLipo laser by Palomar which we believe to be a superior device for many reasons given our experience. The incisions are very small, about the size of a cocktail straw, do not require suturing and heal without significant scarring.
This procedure is relatively benign, quick, and very effective at eliminating unwanted subcutaneous fat. Normally only one day is required to recover. A compression garment is then worn for 3 weeks to maximize results and Spanx are recommended for the few months after. There are different kinds of fat that people have and understanding the different types will help you set and manage your expectations for expected results.
Any lipo procedure regardless of the method can only address subcutaneous fat.
Subcutaneous Fat is the jiggly fat visible underneath the skin.
Visceral Fat is fat that surrounds the organs. This is not visible from the outside.
To help you visual, any fat on top of the muscle we can go after. Anything underneath the muscle is only removed through weightloss.

All of this will be reviewed during your consultation and for your history and physical.
