Don’t just type “laser hair removal near me” or “laser hair reduction near me” into your search bar! We are always looking for the most advanced treatments to safely give our patients the best results and most comfortable experience possible. That’s why we chose the Harmony device, which is an SHR—or “Super Hair Removal”—laser, offering results that are fast and safe without the pain associated with other laser hair removal options. We have performed tens of thousands of treatments over the past 30 years, helping patients to enjoy beautiful results!
Also known as laser hair reduction, laser hair removal is a cosmetic treatment that uses powerful light energy to stop hairs from growing where they aren’t wanted.
At Aesthetic Medicine, we use the Harmony laser, which emits beams of light that pass through the surface of the skin to target follicles below. Follicles are found all over the body, and each one grows a single hair. Most of these hairs and very small and fine, but the hairs on the top of the head, under the arms, and in certain other areas are typically longer, thicker, darker, and much more noticeable.
Laser treatments for hair removal target the follicles that grow highly visible hairs. Pigmentation in these follicles absorbs more of the laser light than the surrounding skin. The light converts into heat, which damages the follicles to prevent them from growing new hairs as they usually would. Lighter-colored cells are not damaged because they don’t heat up as significantly—in much the same way the sun will rapidly heat a black car more than a white car on a hot summer day.
The Harmony laser further improves on the laser hair removal process with advanced technology that makes the treatment even safer, more comfortable, and effective. Harmony’s laser moves in a constant sweeping motion instead of remaining fixed and focused on a specific area. As the light passes back and forth over the treatment zone, the hair follicles are heated more gradually. Single-pulse systems can be very intense—and even painful—as the laser quite literally “zaps” the follicles. The Harmony system uses a different method to gradually heat the follicles instead. By the end of the treatment session, the cumulative effect of the heat produces the desired laser hair removal results, but with less discomfort.
Also, because the Harmony laser hair removal device has a special applicator that focuses on a larger area, treatments can be completed in less time. The sweeps of the laser are thorough for complete coverage.
Note that laser hair removal treatments only work on follicles that are in an active phase. Not all follicles in a given area are actively growing hairs at the same time, so multiple sessions will be needed for ideal results. The Aesthetic Medicine team typically recommends six to 10 sessions, with specifics depending on the patient’s skin type, hair color and density, desired results, and other factors.
Every patient can first expect a consultation to determine whether laser hair removal is the best option. This is also when we will discuss details like preparation, possible side effects, laser hair removal cost, payment options, and more.
For the session itself, we will apply a gel to the targeted area, then move the Harmony laser hair removal device in a gliding motion directly over the skin. Every person’s pain tolerance is different, but Harmony laser hair removal is often described as “practically painless.” The technology is designed to make each session not just tolerable, but as comfortable as possible.
The length of your laser hair removal session will depend on which area or areas you are treating. A small feature, like the upper lip, can be completed in a matter of seconds. A larger region, like the back, can talk around half an hour.

You can do this treatment if you have light, dark or tanned skin, coarse or fine hair; however, the SHR Hair Removal performs better on darker, thicker hair. Laser’s are photosensitive and are attracted to pigment. The ideal candidate would have dark, coarse hair with lighter skin-though the Harmony LASER is unique in that it treats most skin types. Harmony achieves complete hair removal for all areas of the body that is safe, fast, and, best of all, more painless than traditional laser hair removal devices.
On average, we would recommend 6-10 sessions to see results, but this is dependent on the patient’s genetics, desired results, ethnicity [skin type], hair type [thin vs. coarse] and the area on the body being treated. Treatment time can range from a few seconds for a small area such as the upper lip ranging to 30 minutes for larger body areas.
Hair growth is affected by many factors, including genetics, ethnicity, hormones, etc. The treatment protocol you receive in your 20’s will vary and differ from your treatment recommendations later in life. Patients should note that we may recommend more treatments to obtain desired results, as each area of the body has different growth cycles and treatment protocols. Maintenance will be recommended as needed.
Everyone’s pain tolerance is different; however, the Harmony XL Pro offers SHR in-motion technology, making the procedure virtually painless and very effective. Laser hair removal technology has come a long way and the Harmony SHR technology is practically painless.
Harmony can safely and effectively treat hair on any area of the body, and no site is off limits! The most common areas include:

We firmly believe that the internet should be available and accessible to anyone, and are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of circumstance and ability.
To fulfill this, we aim to adhere as strictly as possible to the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (WCAG 2.1) at the AA level. These guidelines explain how to make web content accessible to people with a wide array of disabilities. Complying with those guidelines helps us ensure that the website is accessible to all people: blind people, people with motor impairments, visual impairment, cognitive disabilities, and more.
This website utilizes various technologies that are meant to make it as accessible as possible at all times. We utilize an accessibility interface that allows persons with specific disabilities to adjust the website’s UI (user interface) and design it to their personal needs.
Additionally, the website utilizes an AI-based application that runs in the background and optimizes its accessibility level constantly. This application remediates the website’s HTML, adapts Its functionality and behavior for screen-readers used by the blind users, and for keyboard functions used by individuals with motor impairments.
If you’ve found a malfunction or have ideas for improvement, we’ll be happy to hear from you. You can reach out to the website’s operators by using the following email
Our website implements the ARIA attributes (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) technique, alongside various different behavioral changes, to ensure blind users visiting with screen-readers are able to read, comprehend, and enjoy the website’s functions. As soon as a user with a screen-reader enters your site, they immediately receive a prompt to enter the Screen-Reader Profile so they can browse and operate your site effectively. Here’s how our website covers some of the most important screen-reader requirements, alongside console screenshots of code examples:
Screen-reader optimization: we run a background process that learns the website’s components from top to bottom, to ensure ongoing compliance even when updating the website. In this process, we provide screen-readers with meaningful data using the ARIA set of attributes. For example, we provide accurate form labels; descriptions for actionable icons (social media icons, search icons, cart icons, etc.); validation guidance for form inputs; element roles such as buttons, menus, modal dialogues (popups), and others. Additionally, the background process scans all the website’s images and provides an accurate and meaningful image-object-recognition-based description as an ALT (alternate text) tag for images that are not described. It will also extract texts that are embedded within the image, using an OCR (optical character recognition) technology. To turn on screen-reader adjustments at any time, users need only to press the Alt+1 keyboard combination. Screen-reader users also get automatic announcements to turn the Screen-reader mode on as soon as they enter the website.
These adjustments are compatible with all popular screen readers, including JAWS and NVDA.
Keyboard navigation optimization: The background process also adjusts the website’s HTML, and adds various behaviors using JavaScript code to make the website operable by the keyboard. This includes the ability to navigate the website using the Tab and Shift+Tab keys, operate dropdowns with the arrow keys, close them with Esc, trigger buttons and links using the Enter key, navigate between radio and checkbox elements using the arrow keys, and fill them in with the Spacebar or Enter key.Additionally, keyboard users will find quick-navigation and content-skip menus, available at any time by clicking Alt+1, or as the first elements of the site while navigating with the keyboard. The background process also handles triggered popups by moving the keyboard focus towards them as soon as they appear, and not allow the focus drift outside it.
Users can also use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.
We aim to support the widest array of browsers and assistive technologies as possible, so our users can choose the best fitting tools for them, with as few limitations as possible. Therefore, we have worked very hard to be able to support all major systems that comprise over 95% of the user market share including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Opera and Microsoft Edge, JAWS and NVDA (screen readers).
Despite our very best efforts to allow anybody to adjust the website to their needs. There may still be pages or sections that are not fully accessible, are in the process of becoming accessible, or are lacking an adequate technological solution to make them accessible. Still, we are continually improving our accessibility, adding, updating and improving its options and features, and developing and adopting new technologies. All this is meant to reach the optimal level of accessibility, following technological advancements. For any assistance, please reach out to
