Laser Lift™ - For the treatment of Wrinkles and Dark Circles

Laser Lift™:
The Laser Lift™ was developed after years of research and experience with thousands of patients and consists of a revolutionary combination of two collagen stimulating lasers, microdermabrasion and some of the finest topical products in the world. The Nlite laser and the Vasculite were used separately to treat wrinkles and dark circles in the past. By combining these two lasers with different wavelengths better results are obtained much sooner. There is minimal pain and no downtime with this procedure and results can last for several years. The microdermabrasion prepares the skin for the procedure by removing the dead surface layer and allows the light generated by the two devices to penetrate more easily. The topical products stimulate collagen production from the outside in, while the lasers stimulate collagen production from the inside out. This combination of treatments known as the Laser Lift™ has produced better results, more consistently, sooner and less invasively than any technology we have seen in the past and our patients have been thrilled.

Dark Circles:

Dark circles under the eyes may have served a purpose in antiquity keeping the glare out of the eyes. Today we have hats, sun glasses and tinted glass. Dark circles can make us look tired, older and more wrinkled. Dark circles are caused by increased pigment, veins and wrinkles underneath the eyes. All of these problems can be corrected by two separate lasers, safely and painlessly with a series of treatments. There is no down time and results are seen quickly. The diminution in dark circles occurs fairly immediately while the wrinkle reduction takes more time. Formerly we treated dark circles and wrinkles separately but we have now combined the two lasers, microdermabrasion and specialized topical products in to a procedure we call the “Laser Lift™.” We have found that the marriage of these two lasers with different wave lengths has given us better results than either laser alone. The treatments take only a matter of minutes and are repeated at two week intervals.

Wrinkles:
Description: Collagen is a major component of the connective tissue in the skin that creates strength and flexibility. Over time, the collagen levels in our skin decrease, allowing wrinkles to form. Wrinkles on the face and elsewhere occur naturally with aging. They can be made worse by smoking, sun damage (photoaging), and poor nutrition. Photoaging can be precipitated by excessive tanning under the sun or in a tanning booth and especially by sunburns. Reduction in circulating hormone levels at menopause, seem to accelerate the aging process. For centuries men and women have fought to slow down the inevitable sagging and drooping from lax skin and muscles with potions, spells and outrageous concoctions and devices.
Even the explorer, Ponce De Leon, sought the elusive Fountain of Youth in his illustrious travels. Magical and mystical potions and devices still abound but a number of them show promise and we will reveal those shortly.

Prevention:
Most knowledgeable adults have learned to prevent wrinkles and photoaging by avoiding overexposure to the sun, avoiding tanning beds and using adequate sunscreens when outside even on overcast days. The most effective sunscreen we have seen recently is a clear form of zinc oxide which is like the old pink, green or white cream that people used to achieve total block except that it is translucent. Ask us about this new sunscreen.

General Instructions For Laser Lift™ Treatments

Candidates: Anyone with of the face, neck and chest can be treated. All patients regardless of age will respond if enough treatments are performed.

Before Treatment: Before treatment it is best to avoid tanning and tanning solutions for at least two weeks. Cortisone and Coumadin should be avoided if possible one week before and two weeks after any treatment in order to maximize results. Harsh skin products such as Retin A® and those containing glycolic acid should be avoided one week before and two weeks after treatment. Makeup must be removed in the office just before treatment but may be applied immediately afterward. It is important to perform the first three series of treatments at approximately two week intervals and the remaining three in the series at one month intervals to maximize results. Microdermabrasion or exfoliation may be performed immediately before the treatment. This procedure exfoliates the dead surface layer of skin, allowing better penetration of the laser during treatment and takes about ten minutes.

The Treatment: There is usually minimal pain associated with the treatment but only a generalized feeling of warmth which can last for several hours after the treatment. The treatment takes 15-30 minutes for the face and longer for other areas of the body. Protective eye shields are worn during the procedure. The treatment may be performed by a specially trained technologist under the supervision of a physician.

After the treatment: After the treatment you may apply makeup or a moisturizer. After treatment with the Genesis or Vasculite Lasers there may be redness lasting for several hours. With the N Lite there is usually no redness or skin irritation at all. Rarely swelling under the eyes or redness lasting 1-2 hours may occur. Results are usually noted in the first 60-90 days and wrinkles continue to improve for about one year after the treatment. The number of treatments that can be performed is unlimited but a minimum of 3-6 treatments is recommended initially. Retreatment every 6 months to one year should be performed to maintain the results. Back To Top
